I was doing Yoga & Pilates twice a week up to about a month ago. It helped a lot with my back pain that I get at work being hunched over my laptop all day long. The Chiropractor didn’t seem to be working as well so per their suggestion I started up Yoga at the gym. However my work schedule changed about 2 months ago or so and I tried to keep going even though the class started at 8pm and I now got off work at 6pm. Well about a month ago I gave it up, it was too nice to be done with work and the gym and make it home by 7:30pm to eat dinner, instead of after 9pm like I was doing for so long. It was a luxury I hadn’t had in years and I didn’t want to give it up. Well the back pain returned these last couple weeks. So I’m faced with a decision. Either start going super late to the gym twice a week or try to do it on my own at home. I have not been very disciplined in the past to do things on my own at home. I still can’t get myself to do 5-10min of crunches before I go to bed and I’ve done that about only 3 times in the last several months. I’m a person who needs accountability from others, even if it’s strangers at the gym. So tonight I started what I hope becomes a habit. I went to the gym like normal after work, did cardio for 20-30min and then went home. I looked up on Netflix Instant play what yoga videos they might have. I clicked on the first one I saw and I really liked it. It’s broken up into five 10 min groups of Yoga workouts for a total of 50 min. Yoga Basics, Yoga for Buns & Thighs, Yoga for Abs, Yoga Burn, and Yoga for Flexibility & Relaxation. It was pretty basic yoga moves a lot of it was similar to the class at the gym I liked. It wasn’t as challenging as I would have liked but I think it will get the job done. I may try and check out some of the other Yoga videos on Instant play too, maybe I can find a more intermediate workout. But if you are interested in trying Yoga than I recommend this, if you have Netflix that is. There are other 10 Minute Solution Videos that look interesting: Target Toning, Rapid Results Pilates and Kickbox Bootcamp. May just have to try all of them. I’m just thinking I may be able to pull this off. But it’s only the first day so I don’t want to get ahead of myself.
