Hello, I'm Nancy Joy.I'm 29 yrs old. Therefore I will tell you 29 things about me.
1. I'm a planner & just a little bit OCD. Making lists is a hobby of mine not a chore. Organization is fun!
2. I love anything vintage - especially the art deco period. Antiquing is great fun! My house is full of antiques, but my style is not all shabby chic or anything like that.3. I love watching old movies from the 40s & 50s. If you do too than you will know these classics which I love: That Touch of Mink, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Cheaper by the Dozen, Pillow Talk, Charade, Topper, Singin’ in the Rain, the list could go on.
4. I wish Cary Grant, Aubrey Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and Doris Day were all still making movies. The closest I get to Cary Grant is Hugh Grant – their dry sarcastic humor is so similar.
5. I think Woody Allen is a comic genius. Some favorites include: Annie Hall, Manhattan Murder Mystery and Small Time Crooks.
6. I love baking cupcakes and try to be inventive with my flavor combinations. I’ve even created a whole menu of cupcakes to try one day.
7. I love doing anything artistic like decorating, drawing or making homemade cards. Being artistic is very time consuming so I don’t always get to do these things as much.
8. I've lived in Florida all 29 years. This is not something I’m proud of.
9. I would choose the mountains over the beach any day of the week. Hate that sticky hot feeling you have when you are at the beach for more than 5 minutes and it doesn’t leave your body all day!
10. I would love to go on a month vacation to Canada & Alaska, maybe a train ride through Banff or a cruise through the Alaskan fjords.
11. If I could choose to live anywhere it would be Portland, Seattle or SLC. Mainly because I love the winter and the rain, this could possibly be because of the wardrobe that accompanies this type of weather; boots, scarfs, hats, mittens…love it all!
12. I could eat pizza, sushi and french fries everyday if it meant I wouldn't gain weight. Favorite pizza toppings: half mushroom half pineapple. Favorite sushi: anything with eel sauce. Favorite french fry any of them as long as I have something to dip them in.
13. Anything with spinach and mushrooms makes my mouth water. Whenever I’m at a restaurant I peruse the menu for these items and that is usually what I end up ordering especially when you throw cheese into the mix.
14. I LOVE, LOVE chocolate chip cookies! My brother in law makes the best chocolate chip cookies ever.
15. One of my favorite things to do is go out to eat…noticing a trend? YES I LOVE FOOD!
16. I LOVE dogs! When I was little I wanted to own a farm and rescue dogs and have them run around free. This was probably an unrealistic career goal of mine.
17. I can play the piano but not as good as I like. My 11 year old niece has now surpassed me in skill.
18. I do crossword puzzles in pen. This is not because I’m good at them by any means; I just don’t like using pencils.
19. I can’t resist a good sale: garage sales, clearance racks, any store with a sale. I measure my success of shopping by how much money I saved.
20. Love to online window shop. What is this you ask? I go to all my favorite websites and fill up my shopping carts and 90% of the time I never buy anything.
21. I would shop at Anthropologie for all my clothes if I could. I would also like to live in the store, just plop down on one of the made up beds and live on the home side of the store with the clothing side as my closet.
22. I suffer from: Ranidaphobia (look it up).
23. Like doing outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc…you get the picture. But this conflicts with my dislike of Florida and therefore don’t do much of this unless I go out of state.
24. I like doing spreadsheets and am currently taking online tutorials to learn the new ins and outs of MS Office Excel 2011. Yes this makes me a bit of a nerd. My goal is to learn pivot tables.
25. When I grow up I’d like to be an auditor and catch people in lies. Looking at people’s taxes is very interesting to me. When I did mortgages my favorite part was reading their credit report as it unfolded the story of their financial lives.
26. I like to buy books, but don’t always like to read them. I have a running list of books sitting on my shelves waiting to be read. The only books I flew through and could not put down was the Twilight series, just a tad bit embarrassed to admit that.
27. One of my new hobbies is reading the book before I see the movie, as you can see by my current choice of books. Up next…Time Traveler’s Wife.
28. Declared 2011 the year of projects! First project of the year was reorganizing my closet which I will post about later. And to my earlier comment I do have a list of the other projects that need to be completed by 12/31/11.
29. English does not seem to be my first language as I cannot survive without spell check and usually use words incorrectly, example is it than or then and when? So I apologize as this weakness of mine will be exposed in my blog. But I will do my best!
